4th day since Serenity Peak
Having received a good night’s rest, we set off back up the trail towards the ruins, this time apparently taking a more roundabout route, for some reason I am not entirely privy to, but it sounded like the town was having trouble with traveler or merchant safety along it.
After about half a day’s walk, we were jumped by a pack of Goblins. Naka’s spears proved to be, as always, a force of nature, and these goblins never stood a chance. To make matters more interesting, I got a chance to test out a new potion that lets me breathe fire, making those goblins that Naka couldn’t reach roast like terribly-smelling steaks.
When we had dwindled their numbers down to one, Briar stepped up and with some amazingly quick talk, got it to lay down it’s weapons and chat peacefully. That last goblin apparently had had family issues with the leader of the pack, something about his mother being sold off to slavery, and father murdered. This goblin, whose name came to be Grisk, decided to join us as some sort of self-proclaimed manservant. He seems to have some skill as a wizard, but has not enough physical strength to carry anything, so I’m not entirely sure as to what caused him to choose such a way to join us.
