Entry by Brair
This morning, we started off camp feeling pretty good. I had made a stew, so I was feeling pretty damn good. I even sprinkled some special herbs into it. A little while later, we literally fought 6 Hell hounds. They were as big as houses. They were giant creatures that even Nakanil could have ridden like a baby. We set across from them and battled them, one by one; I was playing my lute as fast as I could; I was dodging fires, and yelling out suggestions, and generally being a badass. I could just TELL that my lute playing? It was having a tremendious effect on the battle. The hellhounds couldn’t get enough. When I stopped playing, they got incredibly sad, and one hellhound accoused the other of making me stop! In reality it was the fact my hand got a cramp and I was walking away with some speed in order to sit down, take off my socks and play the lute with my feet, like any bard would do for his party. However, that hellhound went apeshit and attacked the other one. Damn near ripped its heart out! Ras finally dispatched them handidly, coming out and thowing an abacus at its head, critting and making them die. After the battle, I decided that I wanted a hellhound purse, but I couldn’t do anything other than ruin 3 of the hellhound pelts. It’s OK – I have enough to make a small pouch…hopefully. Havelock managed to skin one, and Nakanil skinned one. I’m hoping that we will make a large pouch for all of our things; Ras believes that these… “pets” have a pelt that’s immune to fire. That would be handy for all sorts of things – but, then again, Ras also believes that Bards aren’t good for much. Well HMMPH I say to that.
After we fought the hellhounds, we went on towards Moss Rock Ruins. We went inside, and found all sorts of interesting things. We found an old leather satchel, and a book, and some gold. We also found this big, giant round circle with this magical inscription on it. It’s supposed to make something stay inside and be… a prison guard of some sort. We went down that hallway, and suddenly – BAM – yours truly, Brair the Bard, was hit by some kind of bastard spell. I fought the hardest I could, but it really took the wind out of me. I could feel myself nearly black out. Shortankard the Mighty was there, luckily, and helped me get back to the edge. It was terribly awful; I kept watching myself take advantage of the innocent and the helpless. I must admit, that I would never do that. Ever. Ever times a million. Brair the Bard is all about standing up for the down trodden, righting the wrongs of justice for the poor, the innocent, and the old and the feeble. Brair the Bard also fights for people who have coin and haven’t done too many misdeeds. Brair needs to live somehow, right?
Anyway, I don’t really remember much after barely sticking on… I remember going down another hallway with everybody, and somebody hitting a switch that made a noise. Then I remember Nakanil counting down 3…2..1… and Naka and Havelock pushing something. I went into the wall with Havelock, who was silly and decided to blindly run into the room, resetting the trap and making us stuck there. On the opposite wall. We had to figure out how to get out of that room (Which, yours truly – BtB) figured out the secret to, and went to a room with a puzzle in it. I, also, figured out the solution to the puzzle. These Kashoon, they seem to…they seem to prioritize Bravery over many other things. Being brave is very important, in the eyes of danger and despite anything else, you want to make sure you’re brave. After being brave, we found the rest of our group…attacking a stone construct. The Construct didn’t say much, until it saw Ras, and then started asking something about the Philandry or Phelactry… I’m not sure which I heard. Either way, Ras produced something out of his pocket – a pewter coin – and gave it back to the construct. It was now that I suddenly remembered what this place was – a VAULT for the DANGERIOUS and SECRET weapons of the kashoon. It’s the Miseracordia; they say that a lichs philandry is held here. I’ve never believed the stories, but the golem attacked us until we gave him this..pewter, worthless coin, and then he walked away, deeper into the vault and just put it away.
Close up all of the doors / secret passages, decide to leave phelactry in the safe hands of the golems. Find key and pocket it. Try with nakanil to rock smash door with melted lock; cheer him on and we do not succeed.
Go find Ras and bug her for acidic potions, find out she is out. Realize second door without melted lock is there, bug Short tankard to lock pick it, she finally does (takes her FOREVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. We stupidly decide that now that the door is unlocked we should SLEEP for the night, with 3 enterences to guard rather than 2.
