Entry by Brair
Today was an…interesting day. We finally managed to get out of the vault – I found an amazing sword, and it seems to have some magical abilities, though… I’m not sure how to figure out what they could be. I’m going to see if there is any kind of wizard or sorcerer here in Bomria before we leave…but I asked Lars about it, and he pointed out that he didn’t know of any who could help.
I’m getting ahead of myself a bit – after the vault, we journied south towards Bomria. Havelock was his usual…greedy and off-settish self. I’m not sure how I feel about him – sometimes I really like his demeaner, and sometimes I just get a feeling that he’d rather be off on his own without having to worry about any party members thoughts, desires, and wills. I know he doesn’t appreciate having to decline some prizes, although he was willing to stand up to Lazerous for me, and he DID give me that gold coin…. perhaps I need to meditate on him.
When we got close to Bomria, we saw 3 mounted milita men running from 18? 20? wargs, 25 or 30 goblins and a bunny. Ras and I immediately charged down the hill, to show those evil goblins whose the boss around these parts (That’s us!) but they had a wizard who was able to trip us on the way down. We both tumbled down the hill, and then I got up and charged 10 of them on foot by myself. It. Was. EPIC! I charged with my new sword and impaled the first one I saw, lifting it clean off the ground and impaling it next to me – warg and goblin both – and then shouted I AM BRAIR AND YOU WILL NOT LIVE. Nakanil was really unfortuent during the battle, and was hit by the
very inept milita men 5 or 6 times. Short tankard was AWESOME during the battle. She taunted a good 10 of the warg/goblins, and dodged and parried and backflipped and side flipped and boogied out of their attacks, until one of them nearly fatally wounded her and nearly KILLED her. I had to run through the battle field – killing 1 goblin on my way – in order to do a backflip, land on her and heal her. Once that happened, the battle was pretty much over. Me and Shortankard the Mighty finished the goblin with a MIGHTY 1-2 stabby blow and the last goblin, looking upon the faces of justice, good standing and the King’s Own Justice, quickly and correctly surrended themselves over to us, giving up to live another day. We tied up the goblin, and told the militia men that they were lucky we helped them; and that we wouldn’t have an issue punishing them if they got in our way of handing over the goblin to Lars.
We go to town, and we run into Lazerous. He gave me this AMAZING idea for a band – The Screeching Cat. I asked if he wanted to join it, but he didn’t seem very impressed. Oh well, HIS loss. In 5 years when I’m making plat tours, and bathing in plat with the other 4 members of TSC he’ll have wished that he had joined us then! Next I need 4 more people to join…perhaps Ras knows how to work a flute or a fiddle – Or, even better – can sing!
Anyway, we sat down and talked with Lars. We found out that the goblin army is well armed, and well fed, and is the tens of thousands and fighting towards us. Hopefully the hundreds of milita members Lars has in the distance is smart enough to fall back to Bomria, rather than fighting in a last stand and dying. We also told Lars everything about the vault, and the secrets we found in the vault… but I kept the how to get in there to ourselves. Some things don’t need to be said. I got the impression from Nakanil and Ras that they would have preferred not to devulge so much to Lars, but….I don’t know. I trust him. He reminds me of my dad sometimes. He suggested we talk to Kizzie about contacting her parents – who are elves – to see if we can find out more information about exactly what the kashoon are, and the purpose of the vault.
We then went to the inn, and met Kizzie again. She’s really nice! She gave us rooms at 75% off, and that included food, drink and HOT BATHS!!!! I soaked for awhile, and even got to wash my clothes. They feel WONDERFUL now. A gnome hasn’t felt so free, naked like a babe in hot water, relaxing and soaking the blood off of my hands and hair. Though, the blood did give my hair an AMAZING shine to it…..
Oh yah – and I’m doing some advertising for The Wine Cask. And, when I write stories about these times, I’ll talk about the MAJESTIC Wine Cask, and how the leaders of the saviors of the world met here, and plotted here, lived here and survived based upon the knowledge, and skill of Kizzie. That’ll really make her appreciate everything – knowing that her families inn will live on memories and stories for all time, and will be one of the stories that all bards are taught at bard schools….
I’m also going to do an advertisement for it, and post flyers up on trees on the way to silverlake so, hopefully, anyone who comes this far north will stay at Kizzie’s shop instead of…. The Hub.
I think it’ll look something like this:
I’ll plaster that all over the roads, and trees, and encampments between here and Silver lake, so that hopefully she’ll drum up some business. I don’t think she’ll be terribly pleased by having to give 15% off the price, but if she’s getting more people staying here, hopefully that will increase her profit margin over-all… She also is writing to her parents on behalf of us to see if we can get in contact with some of the elfs who may have some information – hopefully we can start figuring out exactly what is going on here….
Welp, it’s time that I start trying to read over the texts that we found in the vault – perhaps I’ll discover some secrets on the lands, or the vaults, or….anything really!
